Vintage Ship's Deck Prism Light Green Glass Nautical Pyramid Boat Paperweight
Vintage pale celery green solid heavy glass nautical, maritime, ship, boat, sailboat deck window or porthole prism.
Inlaid like precious jewels in the deck of the gigantic J Yachts, Prisms dispersed daylight into the cabins below. The dangers of oil lamps as fire hazards meant this type of lighting was never used below the deck - a hole would be drilled from the deck into the cabins below and the prism would be caulked into the hole. It would catch the sunlight and disperse light into the cabin below.Solid cast glass,
Heavy green glass. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or flaws.
