CAMBRIDGE GLASS CAPRICE BLUE STERLING SILVER ROCKWELL OVERLAY # 126 12” RELISH
This piece was made by the Cambridge Glass Company, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio and is part of their Caprice pattern line.
This is a gorgeous piece of high quality hand-made and American made pressed elegant glass.
It is made in a pale blue colored glass that Cambridge named “Moonlight Blue” and is decorated with a sterling silver overly decoration six places inside the bowl.
The outer rim and the three dividers are also done in sterling as well.
As evidence of the high-quality of this glass it has been factory ground and polished on the underside of the foot.
I do not see any marks to the silver but have had other pieces with this same design signed “Rockwell” so I am confident this is sterling silver.
I did give a bit of a polish to the sterling to show what it does look like when polished.
The sterling silver decoration on this piece is a known Rockwell decoration.
I owned two other pieces of Caprice with this exact same decoration that were signed Rockwell.
I looked this piece over well (Rockwell acid stamp marks are notoriously hard to spot on the glass surface) but did not find a visible mark.
Specifically, this is the Cambridge Glass Caprice Pattern # 126 12 in. 4 Part Relish.

According to this book this piece was produced by Cambridge Glass during the period from 1936 to 1945.
This piece has been in my personal collection since 2000.
I am in the process of selling off this collection that at one time consisted of over 600 unique pieces of Caprice. This particular piece is not an easy piece to find and would be even more rare with the sterling silver overlay decoration.
A beautiful and rare piece of elegant glass!

Age and Condition
The piece dates to circa 1936-1945.
It is in excellent to mint original condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs to the glass.
Only some tarnish to the silver.
I see no areas of loss to the silver decoration and it all seems firmly attached to me.
There are only some very light signs of wear to the underside where the piece sits; which is exactly what I would expect to see on a piece of glass of this age.
Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.

About 13” (33 cm) long by about 5.875” (14.9 cm) wide and sits about 2.25” (5.7 cm) off the table at the handles.

About 1 pound 14.875 ounces (876 grams).

Shipment will be via the USPS.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
The only form of payment I accept from international buyers is Pay Pal.

International shipments will encounter longer shipping times due to distance and Customs requirements.
The USPS says 6-10 business days, but it can take longer.
International buyers are responsible for all customs fees, duties, import taxes or other related customs or import charges and all our out of pocket costs incurred in the shipment of packages internationally.
International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.
