BRASS EASTLAKE ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEY & STRIKEPLATE - ALL BRASS LOCK!  (9172)
Vintage, circa 1870-1880: Salvaged Eastlake entry mortise lock, but it could be utilized as a passage or vestibule lock too.  Single key with a large faceplate and box and it is ALL BRASS and it comes with the matching strikeplate!  The lock is not maker marked and not numbered but it is very well made, could be Norwich who did not mark a lot of their offerings in this period.
FACEPLATE:
Mortise lock has a large, heavy and intricate Eastlake brass face plate with a length of 7 1/8" and a width of 1 1/8" and thickness of 3/16".
BACKSET:
Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole is 3".
DROP:
The drop (the distance from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion at the top of the key slot is 2 5/8".
KNOB POST or SHAFT:
The lock accommodates a standard 5/16" knob post.
BOX:
The mortise box itself is 3 7/8" deep from the front edge of the faceplate to the back edge of the box and it is 5" high, 9/16" thick.
REVERSIBILITY:
The lock is reversible.
Excellent condition, with key and matching strikplate, works perfectly and, save for a few screws, ready for your project!!
