I have this lamp described how I see it. The plaque and green lens appear to me to be authentic to the lamp. I make no claims on anything other than what is in the picture. I do not know history on this lamp
I have received a few messages advising me my description is inaccurate.
Please review my description then review pictures. This item is accurately described. I make no claims on if it meets costal regulations or if it is correctly made to replicate what a actual lantern from the era should it should be expected. I am aware the color is not correct on the lens to a masthead. The lens has a few bubbles as glass chararistisc from an old lantern would have
I do not claim in this listing this is a authentic only that it appears to be authentic by me who is not an expert. . It could have been made at the time incorrectly. Who knows.
It is a very old lantern as shown made of copper materials and to my knowledge the lens is glass but I have no idea how to test old lens to ensure they are glass.
Having said that this is a very large and very unique lantern.
You are purchasing this lantern with the intent on taking it as you see it.
The bottom cover is missing. There is a minor scratch?crack on the lens but is not noticeable unless you really look. I did not put a light in the lantern to see if the crack will be more noticeable. There is a dent in the bottom edge as shown. I did not see anything else but condition is as shown Selling as is. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
