    BRAD ANDRES SETS NEW AMA
    RECORD IN WINNING 100-MILE
    SPEEDWAY CHAMPIONSHIP...
The "K’s” were really moving on this warm, Labor Day
weekend at Langhorne Speedway, Pa. They went on a
record-breaking speed spree that saw K-riders streak
to victories in both the Amateur Final and the Nation-
al Championship events — a speed spree that saw
time-trialing K-men smash track records left and right
    — a speed spree that saw Brad Andres emerge as one
of the finest young riders of the year — a speed spree
that proved once again, that the Harley-Davidson K’s
have no equal for speed, stamina and top performance
    on track or road.
Here’s how they finished: Brad Andres, first and cham-
pion; John Gibson, second; Jim Phillips, third; and
John Hood, fourth — all on Harley-Davidson K’s.

    LLOYD MANN WINS
    25-MILE AMATEUR FINAL
Lloyd Mann steamed into the lead at the first
turn and never was headed in winning the
25-Mile Amateur Final. He was challenged
several times during the race, but nobody
had the stuff to take him. Hugh Tyler made
a play for the lead in the first ten laps —
and then faded. Jim Rorrer took on the
job the rest of the race, but had to be con-
tent with a second at the end. Ardell Hale
    was third. Keith Stewart, fourth.
    Time of 25-Mile Amateur Final . . . 17 minutes
    and 57.076 seconds.
